Join us for fun, social and creative workshops to enjoy with your friends or family.
With a variety of paintings and craft projects to choose from we are sure you will find a project to get stuck into, try a new skill and enjoy something a bit different.
Evening workshops take place in a variety of hospitality venues across Surrey and Sussex with well stocked bars available for you to purchase a drink to enjoy whilst you complete your workshop.
All projects are designed with beginners in mind so if you have never painted or crafted before you can be confident that you are in safe hands. Our fabulous workshop leaders will lead you through the workshop step by step and we are hope you will be pleasantly surprised at what you can achieve when you get stuck in.

Paint & Sip Workshops
With an array of designs to choose from we are sure you will find something you will love. All designs have been created with beginners in mind so if you have never painted before there is no need to worry.
Workshops are led step by step by one of our brilliant workshop leaders who will also be on hand throughout the workshop with handy tips to help along the way.
All materials are provided so all you need to do, is purchase yourself a drink, pop on an apron and get stuck in.
Craft Workshops
We have craft projects coming out of our ears and are excited to share them. Each month you will find a mixture of stable and different projects to get your teeth stuck into covering everything from Spring, Summer and Autumn projects, gifts and homeware and of course Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
As with painting, all materials are provided so all you need to do if get yourself a drink, pop on an apron and get set to create.
Craft projects vary in price due to the diffference in materials. Prices can be found on individual booking pages.
Seasonal Projects & Home Decor
Halloween and Christmas are the two most popular seasons for decorating your home, garden or both and we are totally here for that.
As lovers of seasonal events you are sure to find projects here to wow your neighbours, friends and family with spooky spectacles, gruesome garnish, terrific trimmings and all things sparkly and magical to decorate your home for the season.
All materials are provided so purchase a drink, pop on an apron, and fall in love with seasonal event decorations.
Creative Date Nights
Whether its a first date, a regular date night or a rare get in a babysitter night, we have something different and super fun for you and your partner.
Join us for a date night with a difference as we paint the evening away, you will each have your own canvas to paint but when put together they make one picture, awww super romantic!
Share a bottle of prosecco or a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy an evening together with a twist. Drinks not included but available to purchase at all venues.

Meet the Team
Hiya, I am Layona, the owner of Artifex Designs. I have been a mural artist for over 20 years and have always loved getting stuck into making gifts for family and friends as well as decorating the house for Halloween and Christmas with handmade decorations.
Running Artifex Designs I get asked to make the most weird and wonderful things and I am excited to welcome you in to create some of these super fun projects with me. I will be running the majority of the workshops in our main Artifex Designs workshop and working artists studio at Smithbrook Kilns in Cranleigh.
There’s Prosecco and Beer in the fridge and the kettle is always on, so book a project that takes your fancy and come and get creative with us!

Hi I’m Wez, I have worked in the arts and entertainment industry for over 20 years having spent many years in London and America looking after some of the very famous visitor attractions you have probably visited. Now back in the UK I work with Layona behind the scenes looking after all the non-creative/boring but equally important bits to make sure you can have a fabulous time getting creative with us.

Be a Guest Artist
Showcase your skills by joining the Studio as a guest lead artist, we will market and sell the session, all you need to do is provide the materials, turn up, teach, have fun.
Run your own workshops
As someone who has always wanted to teach but never fancied bringing people into a lifeless uninspiring hired function room, I understand how important it is to have a great space to get people excited, feeling inspired and having fun.
